GET INVOLVED
Help shape what comes next.
Whether you have lived experience, time, a useful connection, or an idea, there is a place for your perspective. Here are the real ways to get involved right now.

Volunteer
Help facilitate a support session, lend a skill, or simply give time.
Join a support session
Come along yourself — online or in person.
Donate
Support the practical, day-to-day cost of what we do.
Fundraise
Run your own collection, event, or challenge for us.
Stay updated
Hear about new sessions, events, and how funds are used.
Share your story or an idea
Tell us what would actually help — that shapes what we build next.
VOLUNTEER
Time and skills, however much you have.
We're not looking for one type of volunteer — here's roughly what we need help with. If something in between fits you better, tell us and we'll work it out together.
Peer support volunteers
Drawing on your own or a family member’s experience of muscular dystrophy to help at support sessions and make people feel less alone.
Fundraising volunteers
Helping plan, promote, or take part in fundraising activity — from a sponsored event to a simple collection — so we can keep sessions running.
Community and outreach volunteers
Helping us reach more people — sharing what we do locally, at events, or within networks already connected to muscular dystrophy.
Skills-based volunteers
Lending a professional skill on an ad hoc basis — for example design, admin, comms, or finance — wherever it’s useful to us right now.
HOW IT WORKS
01
Register your interest
Use the form below to tell us a little about yourself and what you’d like to offer.
02
We’ll get in touch
A real conversation, not a form letter — we’ll talk through what fits, with no pressure either way.
03
Checks and training, if needed
Roles working directly with people we support include a DBS check and any relevant training first.
04
Get started
You’ll join in on the sessions, events, or projects that match what you’re offering.
Register your interest
Let us know which of the above appeals, or describe what you'd like to offer in your own words.
JOIN A SESSION
Come along yourself.
If you're affected by muscular dystrophy and would like to join a support session — online or in person — that's a separate registration from volunteering, so we can shape sessions around who actually wants to attend.
Register interest in a sessionDONATE
Support the practical cost of what we do.
We publish a running breakdown of money in and money out — by category, right down to individual costs like bank fees — on our accountability page, so you can see exactly where a donation ends up.
Fundraising for us at work, or giving in memory of someone? We'd love to help make that happen — get in touch and we'll talk it through with you directly.
FUNDRAISE
Run your own collection or challenge.
A bake sale, a sponsored walk, a workplace collection — if you'd like to fundraise on our behalf, get in touch first so we can support you properly and make sure it's recorded correctly when it comes in.
STAY UPDATED
Hear about new sessions and events.
Occasional updates by email — nothing more. You'll get a confirmation straight away and can unsubscribe at any time.
QUESTIONS
Before you register.
Do I need experience with muscular dystrophy?+
No — though lived experience (your own or a family member’s) is especially valued for peer support roles specifically. Every other role is open to anyone.
How much time do I need to give?+
Whatever you have, from a one-off event to something ongoing. We’ll talk about what’s realistic for you rather than expect a fixed commitment.
Can I volunteer remotely?+
Yes, for many roles — skills-based and community/outreach volunteering can often be done from anywhere. Peer support depends on whether a session is running online or in person.
Will I need a DBS check?+
Only if your role involves working directly with people we support, such as peer support at a session. We’ll tell you upfront if it applies to what you’re doing.
I’m not sure what I want to do yet — can I still register?+
Yes. Describe what you’re interested in, in your own words, and we’ll talk it through with you.
Have a story, connection, or idea?
Not every way to help fits a form. If you have something to share or a question about getting involved, just tell us directly.
